The Affordable Care Act (ACA) has made it possible for more people to get health insurance. If you do not have health insurance with your employer, there are several ways to get health insurance. Health insurance coverage can be purchased from an agent, an insurance company, or in the health insurance market. You can also benefit from Medicaid or Medicare.

If you have not taken out affordable health insurance in the past, you may be eligible for help with paying your health care costs in one or both of the following ways:

1.A premium tax credit reduces your monthly premium. See what your premium could be with our tax credit estimator.

2.The cost-sharing assistance reduces the amount you pay for various health expenses, including the deductible, co-insurance, and co-payment.

Additional Tips For Affordable Health Insurance

Here’s how to help reduce your healthcare costs:

1.Choose a health insurance plan that works for you. All Blue Cross and Blue Shields in the Texas Health Plan comply with the Affordable Care Act guidelines. They have the same health benefits, quality and amount of care. Where health plans differ in how benefits apply and how much it costs. For example, some plans may have lower premiums and deductions. Others are premium and less deductible.

2.Understand the benefits of your project. Since all plans are different, it is important to know what your plan and cover are before you take care of them. Understanding what’s included in your specific plan will help you avoid paying more for services outside the network.

3.Stay in the network. Provider networks are groups of doctors, hospitals and other healthcare professionals who have agreed to work with your health plan. When you visit a provider that is not in your plan network, you will have to pay a large portion of the bill or the entire bill.

4.Save on your prescription range. Look closely at your plan to see if you get a discount for using a specific pharmacy or mail-order pharmacy service. Also, whenever you can (and it is available), use the regular version of your ation cuffs – most likely it will help save money.

5.Take advantage of your members’ permissions. Some health plans offer discounts for members on gym membership and vision services. Additionally, some plans offer special incentive programs to help you quit smoking, lose weight or exercise more.

6.Check your health. Improving your health makes it feel good, it saves you money. The healthier you are, the less likely you are to see a doctor. Try your best to eat, exercise and get health checks regularly. Encourage all family members to lead a healthy lifestyle.
